If you are unsure, size up. Hard-shell suitcases, wheels, handles, and reinforced corners leave less usable space than soft-sided bags.
Why Some Bags Do Not Fit in One Locker
Soft-sided bags compress to fill irregular gaps. Hard-shell luggage does not. Rigid suitcases have reinforced corners, fixed spinner wheels that often add 3–5 cm of depth, and handles that protrude even when collapsed. A carry-on listed at 55 × 40 × 20 cm often measures closer to 58–60 cm including wheels.
This is why two large or XL hard-shell suitcases almost never fit in a single XL locker. The issue is not height — our XL lockers are 41 × 57 × 85 cm — it is width and depth. Most large suitcases are 30–35 cm deep, so placing two side by side exceeds the 41 cm internal width. Stacking them front-to-back often exceeds the 57 cm depth once wheels and handles are included.
Measure Your Luggage Before You Book
Measure each bag at its widest, deepest, and tallest points. Include the wheels, handles, reinforced corners, and any filled external pockets, then compare the complete exterior measurements with the locker’s internal dimensions.
Do not assume that a suitcase matching one listed dimension exactly will slide in easily. If you are between sizes or unsure, book the larger locker or multiple lockers for a smoother drop-off and pickup.
